Hi! I’m a speculative fiction author on the Gulf Coast of Florida. I write 90 percent of my drafts using Dragon Nuance speech-to-text dictation (shoutout to fellow hypermobile humans!) I’m represented by the amazing Linda Camacho at Gallt & Zacker Literary Agency.

In my books:

  • Ghosts/hauntings (literal or metaphorical)

  • Lyrical prose 

  • Ocean imagery (I live in FL!)

  • Lots of yearning

  • Humor + spookiness

  • Mental health and/or disability themes (I gotta write what I know!)

I’d love to visit your school, library, or book club to do an author talk or generative creative writing workshop! I’ve worked as a writing tutor for students in elementary school through college and as a freelance fiction editor for aspiring novelists.   • Workshops for Grades 9-12: We’ll dive into interactive prompts focused on having fun, breaking through writer’s block, and generating surprising scenes and stories. We’ll also discuss what makes us root for characters and how we can pull from our own experiences.

  • Workshops for Aspiring Authors: How to care for yourself physically and emotionally as you write; how to outline your first draft; how to write your query blurb; how to draft from the subconscious.

  • Workshops on Personal Topics: How I write using dictation/writing with a disability; how writing helped me process OCD.

  • Spooky Season Workshops: Horror-themed writing prompts; how to write a “monster main character” that celebrates the wonderful weirdness of being human; how horror can help us process our emotions

  • General Author Talk: Q&A, reading and signing

Author Visits

    • $700 for half-day (Includes one-to-two 45 minute presentations or workshops with a cap of 75 students per session.)

    • $1200 for full-day (Includes three-to-four 45 minutes presentations / workshops with a cap of 75 students per session.)

    For Title 1 schools or organizations with funding needs, I can work with you to figure out what meets your budget.

  • $100-110 for a one-hour virtual visit, with a cap of 50 students per session. However, this can be flexible per situation and I offer several free visits per year.

  • I offer a certain number of free visits to book clubs and reduced cost visits to libraries, schools with funding needs, and nonprofits. Contact me to find out if I have availability and let’s talk about your budget needs!
